What does it really mean to be “Green” ?

  • It is a fine balance that takes into account many values. You and your organization have to determine your own commitment to:
    • nature
    • economy
    • humanity
    • sustainability
    • social responsibility

  • minimizing carbon footprints in toledo LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a designation created by The U.S. Green Building Council. This Council is a nonprofit organization committed to expanding sustainable building practices.
  • LEED certification verifies that a building project is “environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live and work.” For more information on LEED visit:
  • A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment, and, in particular, on climate change. The term carbon footprint relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives through the burning of fossil fuels (as needed for electricity, heating and transportation etc.). Technically, the carbon footprint is a measurement of all greenhouse gases we individually produce and has units of ton of carbon dioxide equivalent.

This certification was one of the first awarded in the United States by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Kevin had to meet strict eligibility requirements and pass an extensive exam. Kevin is also a Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (QCP). This certification is awarded by the College of Engineering at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, after successfully completing their commissioning coursework.
